James Strasen

Scientific Writer, Geologist, Project Manager, and Novelist

James Strasen is a Ph.D. science writer and geologist with 25 years of experience in the energy industry and academia. both with Unocal and BP, in technical and managerial roles in Gulf Coast and West Coast positions and the University of Houston. He directed corporate energy planning for BP in London and Singapore. He also holds an MBA from MIT in international finance. He analyzed petrography and wrote more than 400 hundred science reports for clients to determine depositional environments. He is lead author of three manuscripts published in international peer-reviewed geoscience journals.
